Tactic in Volleyball

Tactics in Football
The counter attack in football-This is an attacking tactic which allows your team to have more space on the attack on goal as the operation have the ball on the press towards your goal they leave gaps and space which make it easier to attack when you win possession to make the attack as efficient as possible you need to play the ball through to a player in the space there team have just moved out of on the attack towards you this means there players are out of position allowing you to be through on goal with one or two passes catching the team out of possession.
Formations in football-The coach’s choice of formation is usually dictated by the type of players a team has. A coach may also change his team’s formations during a game to adapt with different situations this can allow easier attacks as a positive but can mean you are easier to attack against if the formation in not suitable for the team you are playing against.
The park the bus tactic in football- this is a defensive tactic that mean you move a lot more players into the defensive roles on the pitch during different situations for example if you are winning in an important game you play park the bus to make sure you secure the win for the team.

Switching the ball across the pitch. This is an attacking and defending tactic but mostly attacking as the ball is played from side to side moving the opposition either tiring them out or not allowing them enough time to move across this allows a player to pass the ball into the space created on the side where the team are not able to move quick enough and are able to get passed the defense and possibly cross the ball in for an attack on the ball.

Creating Space in football

Creating Space in football
-Move away from the ball taking the defender away from the space you've just moved out of.
-Keep your eyes on the ball and the teammate making the pass
-make sure you always know where your defender is at all times by checking your shoulder.
-Make sure the space you created is either enough space for someone else to make a move into or for a pass to be made to another teammate.

-if your not able to make the move out of the space other player may make a space for you to run into you need to make sure to make move movements fast to allow you to get away from the defender and be free in space to receive the ball

Tactics in Volleyball

Volleyball tactics

Formations-the correct formation will give you an advantage over the team and allow you to be one step ahead of the opponent as your player is in a better position which it works the same way if you have a bad formation it allows the opponent to counter your player not in the good positions.
serving-The 2 types of serving shots are a floater and top spin.
-Floater is just tossing and hitting the ball with your palm through the centre of the ball.
-Topspin is a shot when you toss the ball and hit the ball with your palm but contact with the ball below the centre of the ball making it have top spin which both require skill in there own way some more than the other.
Communication-Communication plays an important role in volleyball. In volleyball communication is a great tactic for attacking and defending. This is because your team is communicating to each other who are taking the shot and whose ball it is. Therefore it makes the game much easier and therefore prevents any collisions overall preventing injuries.
Blocking-There are two main types of block in volleyball which include Area blocking and Read blocking. Area blocking is when the blockers have predetermine what area they are going to take away from the hitters.
Blocking strategy usually consists of taking away the oppositions most likely shot (area they are most likely going to hit to) with the defence covering the other area of the court.
Read blocking. Teams with bigger blockers and not so great defensive players may use the strategy of read blocking.
With this strategy, blockers are allowed to try and read the hitters during the attack. Blocking decisions are made on the fly and where a blocker is going to block can be unpredictable.

Obviously this is good that your opponents don’t know what you’re blocking, but a lot of times neither do your defenders.

The Block in Volleyball

The Block in Volleyball
-Be ready at all times timing is the most important aspect in Volleyball as the more perfect the timing the more efficient the shot or block may be.
-Keep your knees bent shoulder width apart square on at the net this allows you to keep your balance and generate more power to get a higher jump.
-Swing your arms as your jumping to generate more power to make you go a bit higher making the block more efficient.
-Keep your arms high and shoulders bent to allow your arms to be strong making your arms not getting beaten by the power of shot.
Make sure your palms are facing the net as it reduces time to get into position.

-make sure your half an arms length away from the net to allow you not to touch the net and give away their point and result in a violation.

The Spike

The spike-
-Get into position. The rules of volleyball state that in order to strike the ball over the net, you must be a front row player. It's most effective to strike the ball from the right or left side at a sharp downward angle
-Watch the setter. The person playing the centre position will set the ball high in your direction, arcing it so that it falls close to the net in a position that makes it easy to spike it to the other side.
-Assume the correct stance. Face the ball and bend your knees so you're ready to move.
-Take your first step toward the ball. Take a strong first step with your left foot in the direction of the ball. If you're left-handed, do the reverse.
-Take a second powerful step. Step with your right foot to build speed. At the same time, swing your arms back behind you to prepare for the strike.
-Take a final step to square your feet. Step again with your left foot and end with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees bent. Your arms should be swung back behind you.
-Jump as the ball falls into position. As your last step lands, your body should be turned at 30 degrees from the net with your hitting shoulder further from the net. Jump explosively upward and swing your arms forward at the same time to jump high into the air. The higher you jump, the more powerful your strike will be.
-Rear your hand back to strike. As you reach the height of your jump, your arms should swing above your head.
-Hit the ball with the centre of your hand. Keep your hand open with your fingers together. Rotate your arm at the shoulder and whip your forearm forward to move your hand quickly toward the ball and make contact. Snap your wrist downward to impart topspin and direct the ball down into your opponent's court.

The Dig in Volleyball

The Dig in volleyball

-Keep your head inline with the ball this allows you to have more control over where the ball goes as your moving your body meaning your arms aren't different lengths as you hit the ball meaning you have less control on the ball.

-Keep your arms firmly straight even with your hands clasped when colliding with the ball this is so you can generate the power on the ball you need to get the height on the ball.
-Make sure your hips are braced this allows you to have controlled balance to make things more accurate.
-Make sure your knees are slightly bent this allows you to generate more power on the ball.
-Keep your feet shoulder width apart this allows you to have further balance to have even further control over the ball.

Keep your eyes on the ball so you know where the ball is at all times allowing you to play an efficient shot.

The set pass

The Set Pass
-Keep your eyes on the ball this is to make sure your accurate and make sure your playing the pass efficiently.
-Make sure your forehead is underneath the ball this is to allow you to get the height onto the ball you need for your teammates to counter your set and win the point.
-Make sure you make contact with your fingers to make sure you can efficiently make the shot as the shot may not be played as well if played with palms and make a slapping noise.
-Push over your head to make sure you get enough power on the ball to reach the other player.
-Brace your hips to allow more flexion this allows more power and balance for the player.
-Bend your knees to allow that little bit more control on the shot and also allow more ballance.
-Move your feet in line with the ball this is important because this gives the player the control on where he's placing the ball just that bit more as their body is opened up to where he's playing the ball.

Key skills in Volleyball

Volleyball
Flexibility is the quality of bending without breaking this is used in volleyball to stretch to make a shot this is needed so it does not cause injuries to the player.
Power is the ability to exert the most amount of power on to a ball or object within the least amount of time this is used in volleyball as they need to create large amounts of power to make sure it is not able to be defended against the opponents
Decision making is making the correct decision as fast as possible in the best way possible. This is part of volleyball as when the opposition or your teammate play a shot you need to make your decision as quick as possible and as well as possible to allow the point or shot to be won.

Agility is the ability to change direction at speed  this is used in volleyball as the bal;l may be in a different spot to what you may think it was going to be played in so this agility allows you to change direction to get to the ball and oppose the shot.

Intercepting in football

Intercepting in Football
-A second situation in which the ball is caught is when a defensive player intercepts an offensive pass.
-Be aware of the run being made by the oppositions players ans know where the ones that are able to be passed to at all times.
-Be on your toes ready to make the move as soon as they are playing the pass to ensure you are able to make the interception as fast as possible so you may be able to counter attack or win back possession.
-Keep your eye on the ball as the ball get to your feet to ensure you do not miss the ball.
-Take your first touch from the interception away from the near defender if there is one to keep possession of the ball.

-Allow a visible passing lane for the defender to think he may be able to make the pass but don't be too close or to far away from the path in order to make the interception.

Turning in football

Turning in Football
-Keep your body shape opened out to ensure you can  see a bigger pitcher of what options are available once you receive the ball.
-Screen (look behind you for opposition) to make
sure you are not under pressure and are able to turn
out with the ball .
-Bend your knees slightly this is for balance and this
also means you can generate more power which shows you can turn with the ball faster and attack the opposition.
-Keep your eyes on the ball when it is on its way to
your feet to make sure you receive the ball without
the ball going astray.
-Move your feet to make sure your in the correct position
to receive the ball Because if not you are not able to receive it as your not in the right position.
-Receive the ball on the back foot to ensure you can turn
with the ball as fast as you can to make sure your not under
pressure if you receive like this it cuts out the time if you take
a touch in front of you and the time taken to turn the opposition could be able to press you.

Marking as a Defender

Marking as a defender:
-Keep your body open to allow you to still see the whole picture so you can see of any players making moves off the ball.
-Keep your body an arms distance away from the ball and the defender to make sure you are not too close to allow the attacker to spin you and be in on goal or to get away from you. -Make sure your on your toes to allow you to make quick decisions and if he able to get past you, you are more likely to get back as you are always ready for what happens.
-Make sure you bend your knee to allow you to stay balanced to make sure you don't fall over.
-Keep your eyes on the ball and players feet.

-Bend your knees slightly to make sure you have stability and have good balance so you don't fall over.

Key skills Football

Football
Flexibility is the quality of bending without breaking this is used in football as you may need to stretch to get the ball as a long pass may have been made or a bad pass may have been made meaning you may need to over stretch to get the ball this could create injuries as you may over stretch.
Power is used to create the maximum amount of power on a shot to make sure the keeper can't save it or make a long pass across the pitch.
Decision making is making a fast decision under pressure this is used in football when making a pass say in midfield as the defenders are putting you under pressure to get the ball and you only have a maximum amount of time to figure out where you going to make the pass.
Communication is used in football to allow your team to know you want the ball or where you are on the pitch this can be nonverbal or verbal non verbal is hand signals or jumping to make your team aware of where you are.
Strength is the ability to exert force agaist resistance this is used in football to hold off the defender from masking the tackle
Teamwork is used in football to move the ball across the pitch to allow the ball to move fluently across the pitch this allows games to be won and players to perform as they feel that part of the team.

Agility is used when dribbling the ball to put off the defender or can be used when defending so that they are not able to get passed you.
